Introduction to the concept of a Public Library building.

The project envisions the creation of a modern cultural center, harmoniously integrated with the green surroundings of Ursynów. The library is intended to serve not only as a place for borrowing books but also as a space for meetings, learning, work, and relaxation for residents. A key objective is the integration of library, educational, and social functions with the existing park landscape. The facility is to be open, accessible to all age groups, and serve as an important element of the local cultural infrastructure.

Description of the architectural concept for the Public Library building.

The architectural concept is based on three interconnected volumes: a library, an administrative section, and a multifunctional hall. The central element is a three-story library with a green atrium, which, thanks to its glazed facades and open spaces, is well-lit and user-friendly. The multifunctional hall allows for the organization of cultural events and can open onto the park space, creating an outdoor stage. All buildings are connected by a common architectural language based on lightness, transparency, and a strong connection with the surrounding greenery.

Consistency of architectural arrangement and site development.

The project envisions a seamless integration of architecture and landscape, allowing buildings, roofs, and the park to form a cohesive whole. The landscape roof, accessible to users, plays a crucial role by expanding the recreational space and merging park functions with architecture. The area has been equipped with diverse zones for activity, relaxation, education, and art exhibition, catering to the needs of various user groups. Significant emphasis has also been placed on biodiversity, water retention, and year-round landscape appeal through carefully selected vegetation.

Accessibility Description.

The entire complex was designed according to universal design principles, ensuring full accessibility for people with diverse needs. The buildings are equipped with elevators, wide circulation paths, ramps, and appropriately adapted service points. The multifunctional hall allows for comfortable use of both the auditorium and the stage by people with disabilities. The park area has also been freed from architectural barriers, offering convenient paths, rest areas, and accessible restrooms.

Concept Summary.

The J.U. Niemcewicz Public Library project creates a modern cultural center harmoniously integrated with the surrounding park. Three functionally connected facilities – the library, administration, and a multi-purpose hall – collectively form a space for learning, culture, and social integration. Flexible solutions allow for events to be organized both indoors and outdoors. Through the use of modern technologies, ecological solutions, and full accessibility, a place with a strong identity is being created, friendly to residents and integrated into the Ursynów landscape.
